About our concrete contractor business in Malden

Who we are, how we work, and what happens after you call us about your concrete job.

How I came to run a Malden concrete crew

I learned concrete as another contractor's right hand, running his crew, ordering the mix and laying out jobs while he was off at the next site. In 2017 I went out on my own here in Malden. Homeowners call us for driveways, patios, walks and steps, and owners and builders bring us footings, foundations and the harder structural work. We're best known for flatwork, the flat slabs like driveways and patios, laid out right, with the slope and the joints planned before the first form goes in.

I care most about the parts you can't see once we're done. The base, the packed gravel the slab sits on, decides whether it settles. The slope decides whether water runs away from your house or toward it, and the control joints, lines we cut so the slab cracks where we chose instead of wherever it likes, decide how it looks years from now. If a job isn't a good fit for your property, I'll tell you that before I'd sell you something I don't think will last. You can see the concrete work we do on our home page.

What working with us looks like

These are the things you'll notice from the first visit to the day you use your new concrete. We're fully licensed and insured. Satisfaction guaranteed on every job.

  • One person from estimate to pour

You deal with me from the first visit to the finished pour, so nothing gets lost between what we talked about in your driveway and what our crew builds. If something turns up once the old slab comes out, you hear it from me.

  • An estimate you can compare line by line

Your estimate spells out the concrete mix, where the control joints go and which way the water will run off, so you can hold it up against anyone else's. If another bid leaves those lines out, that's worth asking about.

  • Permits and engineers lined up first

When a job needs a permit, we file the application ourselves, which in Malden goes to the city's Inspectional Services office, and keep you posted on where it stands. If the work calls for an engineer, we bring one in before anyone digs or cuts.

What to expect after you call us

Most of our jobs follow the same three steps. Here's what happens after you reach out, who you'll be talking to, and what you'll know before any concrete gets ordered.

  1. Step 01

    Call or send the form

Call (781) 288-8155 or fill out the form on our contact page and tell us what you're seeing, whether that's cracks, a sinking patio or a new slab you want built. We reply within one business day to set up a visit.

  2. Step 02

I walk the job with you

I come out myself, and the estimate is free, done on site and comes with no obligation. Price usually turns on size, thickness, how much digging and base work it needs and the finish, while the schedule turns on permits, weather and curing.

  3. Step 03

We build and hand it back

Our crew does the work with me on site, from digging out and packing the base to the pour and cleanup. Afterward you get plain instructions for curing, the wait while the concrete hardens before you use it, and for its first winter.
